In this era of Technology and Digitilization, Sinar Mas Land believes that it should go beyond being a conventional real estate developer. Now, it wishes to build an ecosystem by forming a technology community in BSD City, which will mirror the Silicon Valley. It’s taking the first step by creating GeeksFarm and WGS Hub in BSD City. Dhony Rahajoe, Managing Director at the Sinar Mas Land’s President Office, hopes that with the formation of these communities, technologists with the likes of Mark Zuckerberg will emerge from BSD City.

“We wish to build an ecosystem, in which the youths of Indonesia can progress and enjoy the economy without much obstacles, through the help of information and technology.” Dhony said during an interview at the Breeze in BSD City.

WGS Hub itself is a retail store that offers IT solutions and services such as mobile app development. By having physical retail presence, prospective can then come in person to find more information, face to face and learning more about a product before making a purchase.

CEO of WGS Hub, Anton Ong explains that at present, it is rather difficult to find the right IT solution or a suitable solution and price. That’s why WGS Hub is launched.

GeeksFarm on the other hand is a business that provides training to students whose keen interest is technology and wish to be a programmer. Anton explained that GeeksFarm is the source of “manpower” for WGS Hub.

GeeksFarm wishes to help the community wishes to be in the world of technology but does not know where to begin. Some of the couses that it offers include Programming for Working Professionals, Programming for Children and Technology for Startups.

The course for startups which is aimed to help them advance into a profitable business, includes training in the areas of ideas validation, business model explanations, good business processes and social media.
